REASONS 2BABA, WIZKID OTHERS CANNOT BE COMPARED IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

Music is of two categories. One is the category of fame and the other, category of influence. By the music we find in the world today, one would love to imagine the inception of music from the outset to realize that it had been born again by some other special musicians. You come to realize the then musicians were more patient and rich in content than we have today.

 

Hey hey hey, don't gerrit twixted!!! Just wanna make a common sense!

 

The then musicians sang on value and passion than wealth and fame so you find such songs still booming even after several centuries. They were songs that met human demand and inserted into all situations of life yet such musicians were not as famous as those we have today. Today music comes rather as a problem instead of solution. Musicians now centre their lyrics on trivialities and imagery conveyed in their song videos are somewhat problematic to the society. Influence singers are not followed like the fame singers on social media platforms. You realize that an artiste that sings ephemeral songs especially one rich in nudity, has more YouTube subscribers and Instagram followers and of course the highest view.

 

The Nigerian music industry embodies this most I suppose. Check out the likes of Banky W, D banj, 2baba, 9ice, Psqure, Tiwa Savage to compare with the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Mayorkun, Tecno. The latter have more social media subscribers than the former that even determine a great difference when comparing YouTube video views. If D banj and Davdo drop a video today fewer views he gets than Davido.

 

The point however, is hinged not at condemnation but a personal observation. Feel free to prove me wrong.

                                               

It is quite unequivocal the fact that thousands confess to the spontaneous voice of the living Legend. His impacts that until now spring up like fountain across the globe, and bumper accolades that he possesses, unique beyond imagination.

        His conception of music was unique. He had viewed it as a remedy to the aches and ills of the society and as a perfect satisfaction for human life. You realize that in the moment you were sad 2Baba has a song for you yet whenever you are happy he gives you the song that cheers you up. When in despair, he lifts up your hope and when life smiles with you, he still reminds you of how wicked it can be.

 

        His songs are no doubt salvation!!! A perfect prick of the human conscience!!!
