UNSEEN PROSE

 

She put on a sultry smile while speaking from the podium and her suave appearance was already causing ripples among the gathering. Some men obviously in the pink had their eyes darting like lion’s and it was apparent she would have many of them willing to give her a ride at the end of the programme. Then, she spoke pausing in majestic order but the pronunciation sounded like she had plagiarized the speech she was delivering as she had never looked away from the paper while reading.

Not long after she had stepped down, a man approached her offering a hand shake by the corner of the stage. They warmly greeted each other but that only could not satisfy the horny man. It was as though her presentation contained some aphrodisiacs as many smacked their lips seductively at her. Suddenly, there were out of sight but I briskly sighted the man thrusting in regret. He held his noses tightly with his left hand while he bleated thus: ‘’Gosh! You stink! You got bad odour!’’ Humour? Listen to her response; ‘’Sir the stress is the causer!’’ ‘’Shut it!’’ Go away! You got bad English! He said in a strangled voice. What a laugh! The mood got sullen. Her catchy appearance did not allow anyone to suspect she could have the armpit odour. The gaff was blown when she offered to hug the man. Then her spoken English; ‘causer’. It was dawned on the man she had presented another person’s sweat.

Everyone had expected she was a diva that all eyes were on her. While the earlier man fled away from her she returned to her seat and then the thunder was more troubled. Two men swiftly exchanged phone contacts with her. ‘’I will place you a call? But she answered; ‘’where sir? They got puzzled by her response because they expected her to flow fluently. Perhaps she did not get the drift, but she kept grinning hysterically and asking the same question over and over that they got puzzled the more. ‘’What a mess!’’ ‘’This is a wrong choice’’. They chorused. But she offered to follow them. ‘’Gosh! Stay off! They chorused.
